Hotshot Transport
Hotshot Transport
Urgent &
Time-Critical Freight
Hotshot transport is designed for freight that cannot wait for a normal scheduled delivery. Lodestar Transport provides hotshot and time-critical freight solutions for businesses that need urgent goods moved directly to a customer, workshop, project, industrial facility or other destination. The service is particularly relevant to Western Australian businesses where distance and operational downtime can make urgent freight a critical requirement.
Hotshot freight can include breakdown parts, machinery components, pumps, motors, tools, electrical equipment, fabricated components, maintenance materials, urgent construction supplies and other commercial goods. Mining and resource operations may also require urgent delivery of replacement parts or equipment to support maintenance and minimise downtime. Every job is different, so Lodestar assesses the freight, route, urgency and vehicle requirements before confirming the transport arrangement.
DESIGNED FOR PERTH BUSINESSES
A hotshot service is different from simply marking a normal shipment as urgent. The transport plan should be built around the actual delivery requirement. This can involve direct pickup, dedicated transport, reduced handling and a clear delivery instruction. Where appropriate and available, Lodestar can coordinate a suitable ute, van, tray truck, rigid truck or other vehicle according to the load.
Customers requesting hotshot transport should provide as much information as possible. Important details include pickup address, destination, freight dimensions, weight, number of items, loading method, unloading method, required delivery time, site contact, site access requirements and any freight-specific hazards or documentation. For mine sites and industrial locations, induction requirements, PPE requirements, access restrictions and delivery windows may also need to be considered.
Western Australia has a significant mining, resources, construction and industrial economy, making time-critical transport especially important. A vehicle or machine may be unavailable because a relatively small component is missing. A contractor may be waiting for equipment. A project may be working to a strict mobilisation schedule. In these situations, reliable communication and practical transport planning are essential.
Lodestar also understands that urgent freight can involve long distances. A hotshot from Perth to a regional or remote WA location may require careful route and driver planning. The suitability of the vehicle and the legal requirements for the load must always be considered. We do not believe in promising an unrealistic delivery time before the freight and route have been assessed.
